Mano Amiga – Helping Hands Children’s Fund – El Salvador: As an Approved Grant of The Papal Foundation, the Mano Amiga School/Helping Hands School in San Salvador, El Salvador uses an integral approach to breaking the cycle of poverty for countless families. Modeled after over 30 other Mano Amiga Schools in Central America, this school, called “Saint Antonio School, stresses education, formation in the Catholic faith, skills training for future employment of the student as well as a micro business center and low interest home ownership to stimulate a stable and growing business environment.
As of Summer, 2008, St. Patrick’s Church, next to the school was also mid-way through construction with an anticipated completion date of St. Patrick’s Day, 2009.
