Dr. William FX and Roseanita S. Coffey Family Fund
The Dr. William FX and Roseanita S. Coffey Family Fund is committed to helping, but not limited to, the following organization that were and are important to Dr. William F.X. and Roseanita S. Coffey: West Catholic High School – Where Mom and Dad met, this school is still faithfully served by the Christian Brothers who are committed to giving a Catholic education to youth in the city. St. Charles Borromeo Seminary – Where Bill and Roseanita’s son, Fr. Joseph L. Coffey studied for the priesthood. St. Ignatius Nursing Home – Still faithfully staffed by the Felician Sisters, this oasis in West Philadelphia gives love and care to very needy elderly persons. American Catholic Historical Society – Committed to preserving and telling the story of the Catholic contribution to America, this Society honored Mom with the Commodore John Barry Award for service to the community. Catholic Philopatrian Literary Institute – Philos, whose motto is “Revere the Church thy Mother, love thy Fatherland”, honored Mom and Dad with the Fr. Sourin Medals, named for the founder of this, the oldest Catholic lay organization in the United States of America. Physicians for Life – Dad was a founding Physician of this group, which now awards the “Dr. William F.X. Coffey” award to physicians committed to defending life, as Dad was. Dr. William F.X. and Roseanita S. Coffey always encouraged their nine children to give glory to God in all we do. We thank Jesus and our Blessed Mother for all our blessings. Through this fund named in our parents’ honor, we hope to inspire in Mom’s and Dad’s 40 (and growing) grandchildren, the same love of the faith and of helping others, given to us by our parents.
